Sheridan Man Receives Deferred Sentence

31-year-old Nicholas Preslar of Sheridan was sentenced Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court for his role in injuring an officer with the Sheridan Police Department and breaking the glass to a door at the Best Western Sheridan Center on October 10 of last year.

Mother who exaggerated illness imprisoned for failing to pay

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A judge has sentenced a woman to prison for failing to pay restitution handed down to her for exaggerating her son's illness for financial gain.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports that Krishelle Layton three years ago was ordered to pay just over $5,100, but paid back just $40.

Wyoming plan to increase grizzly hunt quotas in dispute

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Conservation groups alleged Tuesday that Wyoming used part of Montana's grizzly bear hunting quota to increase its own allocation for a proposed hunt this year, even though Montana wildlife regulators voted not to give away any part of its quota.
