Over the extended Christmas weekend, the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office was very peaceful arresting only 4 individuals. Sheriff Allen Thompson said that 4 arrests is below even an average weekend and he would like to see low numbers this weekend as well.

Wyoming Governor Matt Mead’s proposed budget that he unveiled to the Legislature earlier this month calls for $105 million in funding for local governments throughout the State.

Many agencies in Wyoming have had to endure cuts to their budget due to a decline in State revenue from the mineral extraction industry. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details on what the Governor recently described as “the doubling effect.”

The Wyoming Department of Education is seeking public comment on proposed virtual education rules that establish the minimum requirements that districts must meet to provide part-time or full-time virtual education to Wyoming students.
