After a U.S. soldier killed multiple civilians in Afghanistan about a week ago some have called on the White House to speed up troop withdrawal.

A K-12 chess tournament will be held this Friday at the YMCA, organized by a Sheridan student looking to create a chess following in the area.

The Sheridan City Council will work with a light agenda this evening as the only item under old business is third reading of creation of a special improvement district for the Sheridan Commercial Park. Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey.

Johnson County Commissioners Meet New GIS Specialist

Johnson County's new GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Specialist, Jim Waller, was officially introduced to the county commissioners at their meeting March 6.
Waller started his position March 1, and has been busy adjusting to the new job in the County Planning Office.

Buffalo's Stars Of Tomorrow Contest Results

The 54th annual Stars Of Tomorrow contest, sponsored by the Buffalo Kiwanis Club, was Sunday at the Buffalo High School Auditorium.
Twenty-three acts performed during the contest in three different divisions.

4-H Carnival Set for Saturday at the Fairgrounds

The annual 4-H carnival and chili feed will be this Saturday at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall. Local 4-H Junior Leaders President Shaylee Little says that they have a number of different things planned for this year's carnival.

JCSD1 Board Approves Employment Recommendations

The Johnson County School Board received and approved a number of requests and recommendations concerning employment at the district's schools during their meeting March 12.

St. Patrick's Day Parade Big Horn Style

You hear about St. Patrick's Day parades in the bigger cities across our nation, but Big Horn, Wyoming? You bet!

It was the 4th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade which began at 3:04 Saturday afternoon and traveling the three block parade route, promptly ended at 3:09.

Jackalope Jump Saturday

If plan 'A' doesn't work, hopefully plan 'B' does and for the folks at RENEW, plan 'B' was a success.

It was the 5th annual Jackalope Jump, a fundraiser for Special Olympics Wyoming athletes on Saturday.

Run 'Til You're Green Fun Run

Saturday was the 7th annual Sheridan Jaycee's Fun Run beginning and ending at Kendrick Park. Blame the warm weather as over 158 runners showed up for the event, 100 up from last year.
