Dominguez Wins Ward Three Seat

In one of the closer races of the evening locally, Levi Dominguez beat out Thayer Shafer by 122 votes for the Sheridan City Council Ward III seat. Dominguez says that he's entering the political field with an open mind.

Ward I Has a New Representative in the City Council: Shelleen Smith

According to the unofficial election results for the Sheridan City Council race, Shelleen Smith has won the seat for Ward I by 141 votes. Smith beat contender Anthony Fairbanks with a total of 1,156 votes to Fairbanks' 1,015.

Senator Barrasso: Washington Needs to Live Within Their Means

U.S. Senator John Barrasso won his bid for re-election quite handily, garnering nearly 80 percent of the vote. The Senator expressed his gratitude to the voters of Wyoming and said that Washington can learn a lot from the people of the Cowboy State.

A little over a month ago Meadowlark Elementary School in Sheridan was named a National Blue Ribbon School for their excellence in education.

Hicks, Hawley and Long Win Races in Johnson County

Unofficial results for the races in Johnson County have been released.

In somewhat of a surprise in the Buffalo City Council race, Dave Long received 992 votes, ahead of Bill Hawley with 882 and Scott Madsen with 867. Long will replace Madsen on the council, and Hawley will retain his seat.

RIVERTON — Micah Lott and Jenea Mandan, a pair of teenagers raised on the Wind River Indian Reservation, knock on the door of a modest wooden home in Beaver Creek, a small development on a barren rise just south of Riverton.

Montana Woman Charged With Prostitution in Sheridan

A media release issued by the Sheridan Police Department states that 29-year-old Sarah Stem from Bozeman, Montana was arrested for Prostitution and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana.
