VOA To Celebrate Arbor Day With Tree Planting

VOA invites the public to plant trees for Arbor Day this Friday.

In recognition of National Arbor Day this Friday, Volunteers of America Wyoming/Montana will be doing something special at their campus on College Meadows Drive. Director of Community Affairs for VOA, Ethan Boone explains what they've got planned for Arbor Day.

Groundbreaking For North Main Reconstruction

Officials with the City of Sheridan, WYDOT, and the North Main Neighborhood Association at groundbreaking for North Main project.

Work began on the North Main Street reconstruction project back in February and is expected to last through June of 2011. The official groundbreaking ceremony took place Tuesday with representatives from the City of Sheridan, WYDOT and the North Main Neighborhood Association on hand for the event. Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey comments on how it's nice to see the project come to fruition.

Judge Rules UW Must Allow Ayers to Speak

Bill Ayers will speak at the University of Wyoming Wednesday.

U.S. District Judge William Downes ruled Tuesday afternoon in favor of William Ayers and University of Wyoming student Meg Lanker in their lawsuit against the University of Wyoming. The lawsuit was initiated when the University restricted Ayers from speaking on campus.

Plea Change In District Court

23-year-old Jerald Roberts plead guilty to aggravated homicide by vehicle.

23-year-old Jerald Roberts changed his plea to guilty Tuesday morning in 4th Judicial District Court. Roberts plead guilty to aggravated homicide by vehicle. The charge stems from a one vehicle rollover on April 20th 2009 that took the life of Christopher Fletcher.

Finalists Chosen for College President

In a media release issued from Sheridan College this morning, three finalists have been chosen for the position of President of the Northern Wyoming Community College District, which includes Sheridan College, Gillette College, and the campus in Buffalo.

Help Available for Crime Victims

The Advocacy & Resource Center in Sheridan, located right across the street from the Sheridan Safeway store on Coffeen Avenue, provides a safe haven for anyone -- women, children, and even men -- who are the victims of violent crimes.

Rhonda Weber is with the Center, and she describes how connections are made between the victims and their services.
