Ron RichterA 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony was held Friday morning at the Fire Department in Sheridan to honor those who died in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
At 7:55 am, the bay doors of Sheridan Fire-Rescue opened and firefighters, local law enforcement and EMS personnel walked out onto the apron of the fire station. At 7:59 am, the time locally when the South Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed, the LaFrance bell rang three sets of five chimes each, known as “the tolling of the bells.”
