Commissioners Name County Scholarship Recipients

Sheridan County commissioners named this year's county scholarship recipients and recognized five employees who have worked for the county five years or longer during their meeting Tuesday.

Brantz Named District 1 Teacher of Year

Colter Brantz, who teaches English at Big Horn High School, has been named Sheridan County School District 1 Teacher of the Year.

Commissioners Approve Quarry Permit

County commissioners approved a quarry permit for James Lomax that will allow operation of a 15-acre quarry for 10 years.

Habitat’s Annual Women Build

The women of the community of Sheridan have been invited to volunteer during Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns Women Build. The event is in partnership with Thrivent Financial and helps address the need for affordable housing.

So there we were, enjoying Easter week in Dallas with our daughter and family. Although we were a long way from Wyoming, headlines in the Dallas newspaper were asking questions about why Gov. Greg Abbott had hidden a horrible accident from constituents for almost a year.

Drug Take Back Day Collects Over 120 lbs of Unused Meds

On Saturday, the Sheridan Police Department participated in National Drug Take Back Day at Sheridan’s Walgreens. According to Lt. Tom Ringley, they collected a lot of unused medications.

Library Strategic Plan

Sheridan County Library System Director Cameron Duff said that the Board of Trustees are working on a new Strategic Plan to be approved this month. Duff said that this plan will outline major goals and priorities of the System.
