Around 150 cutting horse riders from seven or eight states and two places in Canada are in Sheridan this weekend for the second Showdown in Sheridan at the Sheridan College AgriPark.

The Sheridan WYO Theater will host the WYOmericana Caravan Tour on Tuesday, which is a grassroots ride through Wyoming’s musical landscape featuring Jalan Crossland, Screen Door Porch and the Low Water String Band.

The University of Wyoming’s Center for Global Studies will support 20 new student research and internship projects this summer and fall. Among those students to receive support is Sara Ellingrod of Clearmont who is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Global and Area Studies and Spanish.

The Sheridan City Council will hold two Public Hearings at their meeting on Monday night. According to Mayor Roger Miller, the first hearing will be on the recent Electronic Sign Ordinance.

The City of Sheridan is in the process of holding a series of budget work sessions regarding the revisions to the City’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year that begins on July 1.

A unique swap meet is coming to Sheridan later this month. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
