Energy revenues are falling and some think that fuel taxes should rise. Most of us drive, the poor, the rich, the middle class and a fuel tax increase of 10 cents will affect us all. But roads need to be fixed; bridges need to be repaired.

Johnson County HS weekend Sports Wrap

Buffalo and Kaycee High Schools' sports teams were busy this weekend and fared well for the most part.

The Bison boys' basketball team defeated Douglas Friday night 50-46 and in a make-up game from one postponed due to weather a couple of weeks ago, beat Wheatland 46-44 on Saturday.

Monday, the 28th, the public is encouraged to attend an important strategic planning session to come up with viable actions to combat the issues of alcohol, tobacco, substance abuse and suicide prevention.

Sheridan Media Week in Review

It's time once again to take a look back at some of the top news stories from this past week with the Sheridan Media Week in Review. After tabling the item two weeks ago at their last meeting, the the Sheridan City Council Monday night removed from the table the Cloud Peak Ranch 17th filing. The Council, after much discussion, elected to table the item once again, this time, indefinitely. Councilman John Heath.

Cheap but effective Sign of the Times

The U.S. Postal Service announced new prices and services in its Release No. 12-114 on October 11, 2012 for rates effective on January 27, 2013. Residents of the Sheridan area may not be aware of the new prices. Perhaps because many use First-Class Mail Forever Stamps there is not much need for publicity of the rate increases that take effect Sunday.

Buffalo City Council Briefs From Meeting

Buffalo City Attorney Ben Kirven requested permission from the city council to began acquiring the easements and rights-of-way for the NW Water Transmission Line Project.
