Police: Few Problems Now with Wyoming DUI Testing Law

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - After a bit of a rocky start, law enforcement officials and prosecutors around the state say they're now running into few problems with Wyoming's new mandatory DUI testing law.


SHS INDOOR TRACK / FIELD - The 2012 Indoor track and field season begins tomorrow at Sheridan high school.

Head coach Art Bauers says as usual they are expecting a great turn out tomorrow.

And with so many kids and not much in the way of a good indoor track facility they make do with what they have and works pretty well.

The first meet in two weeks away and they'll get started tight off tomorrow with the hard work to get the athletes ready to go.

JLM Awarded Bid For Buffalo's Sports Fields Complex

Buffalo's JLM Engineering was awarded the design contract for the Sports Fields Complex project at the final City Council meeting of 2011.

Cemetery Road Project on Hold For Winter

Project Manager Brent Bennett, with Nelson Engineering, approached the Buffalo City Council at their meeting December 20th to get permission for a workstoppage for the winter on the Cemetery Road Pathway Project, due to the cold weather conditions.

LDCC, Others Discuss Modeling for Lake DeSmet

The Lake DeSmet Counties Coalition hosted a meeting in Cheyenne December 20th with a number of entities interested in the modeling of water at Lake DeSmet.

Buffalo, Kaycee HS Athletes Resume Schedules This Week

Johnson County's high school sports teams will begin resuming their seasons with all teams competing this week.
After the long Holiday break, the first team in action will be the Bison Wrestlers who will be in Gillette Tuesday for matches there.
The Bison boys' and girls' basketball teams will start 2012 on Friday, January 6th as the boys host the Wheatland Bulldogs and the girls play at Wheatland.
The Bison boys' swim team will also open 2012 on Friday, January 6th at the Douglas Invite.

The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee will be hosting a two-day legislative forum this week that features all of our local legislators. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Dixie Johnson.

Nancy & Clint Plunge into 2012

115 hearty souls plunged into Lake DeSmet, including Nancy and Clint Spence of Sheridan, in the 25th Annual Polar Bear Plunge at Lake DeSmet at 1:00 pm, Sunday, January 1st. Nancy and Clint live in Sheridan but Clint works in Anchorage, Alaska and he thought the water was cold even by Alaska standards. Organizers made a couple last minute changes.
