Two Pathway Bridges Set to Go Up This Week in Sheridan

Two bridges intended to greatly benefit and connect pathways in Sheridan will be going up this week. The first one is in South Park and will provide walking access across Little Goose Creek and is expected to go up this afternoon.

Sheridan County Republican Women Kickoff Event Today

Rep. Rosie Berger (R-Sheridan) will be the guest speaker for the Sheridan County Republican Women's 2012 kickoff luncheon today.

School District 2 Board Report

During their regular meeting Monday night, Sheridan County School District 2 Board of Trustees learned that the issue of funding for a new Coffeen Elementary has still not been resolved.


KAYLA WOODWARD - Sheridan's Kayla Woodward was named the MWC player of the week for her play last week and won the award for the second time this season.

She has made quite a splash in her freshmen season with the Cowgirls and Head coach Joe Legerski says Woodward has really made the move up into Division One basketball.

GENERALS / LADY GENERALS HOOPS - Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals are both coming off victories over Northwest college Lady Generals Head coach Frank McCarthy.

Pole Creek Challenge Results From Saturday

This year's Powder Pass Nordic Club's Pole Creek Challenge was a success, according to information provided by the group.
Sixty-two participants took part in the 5K and 10K races in both skate ski and classic Nordic skiing.
The race netted roughly $360 from entry fees and donations which will go back into helping pay for maintenance and grooming at the Nordic Areas west of Buffalo.
The top finishes for the skate skiers were Aaron Kessler in 19 minutes, 33 seconds; Sarah Nicholas, 23:30; and Lorajane Kessler, 45:36. They were the only three that participated in the skate ski event.

Johnson County Accepts FEMA Grant, Approves Land Swap

At the last Johnson County Commissioner's meeting January 17, the commission approved a Hopmeland Security Grant from FEMA for Law Enforcement and Terrorism Prevention.
