Suspect in Cody Abduction Waives Preliminary Hearing

CODY, Wyo. (AP) - A Montana man charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl from Cody, Wyo., has waived a preliminary hearing. Jesse P. Speer is being held on a $2 million bond on charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and using a gun in the commission of a felony.

Mead Blasts Feds for Ducking Health Questions

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Gov. Matt Mead says he's concerned that the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services has declined to answer his repeated letters asking for information about how the state is supposed to implement the federal health care reform law.

Decker Coal Announces Mass Layoff

The Decker Coal Company has announced that they'll conduct a mass layoff at the Decker Coal Mine beginning early next year. Between January 16th and March 15th of 2013, 75 employees will be laid off permanently.

Committee Votes To Raise Hunting License Fees

A legislative committee has voted to sponsor legislation that would raise fees for dozens of hunting and fishing licenses for both residents and non-residents.
