French Film Crew At Occidental

The 35th Red Grade Grind will take place Saturday morning.This is a 3 mile, 2000 foot elevation gain,run up the Red Grade Road to be held October 6th.

Race starts at 9:00 a.m., rain or shine. Runners, walkers, cyclists are encouraged to attend this 35th running of this event. There is no entry fee.Participants meet at the end of the oil. Any questions, please contact Curt or Linda Schwamb 307-672-5416


The Sheridan College Men’s basketball team is excited to announce that NCAA All-Time win leader & ESPY award winning Coach Don Meyer will be hosting several events in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Coach Don Meyer is a renowned speaker, hosting leadership seminars and speaking for national organizations such as New York Life. Coach Meyer’s life was changed in 2008 when a near fatal car accident discovered that he had carcinoid cancer.

Council to Consider Updates to Fire and Building Codes

The Sheridan City Council tonight will be considering changes to the City's fire and building codes. Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey says that the changes have to do with recent action taken by the State.

Sheridan Drug/Alcohol Survey Now Open

Sheridan County residents are invited to participate in a short online survey to assist community prevention specialists in formulating a plan of action to combat substance abuse and suicide.

French Film Crew Tapes At Occidental This Weekend

A film crew working for a French television program highlighting places to travel in the world was in Northeast Wyoming this weekend and stopped by the Occidental Hotel in Buffalo Saturday night to film the locals, some background history of the hotel and the town and some local talent as well.

At their last meeting, the Johnson County School District One Board of Trustees heard a presentation from Dr. Jeanie Barent on the protocol surrounding prospective student-teachers in the district.

JCHC Looks At Next Capital Construction Project in 2016

With the Radiology department signed off by the State Department of Health, the Johnson County Healthcare Center's 2012 Construction Project is essentially complete, and their attention will now turn to the next step in their Capital Improvements Plan, the 2016 project to replace the aging Amie Holt Care Center.

Black Diamond Byway Dedicated Saturday

Over 150 people attended the dedication of the new Black Diamond Byway which took place Saturday at the Kleenburn Recreation Area just north of Sheridan. Sheridan Media's Judy Hagerott was there as another piece of history was being made.
