Spokane Environmental Groups Alarmed by Coal Trains

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Environmental groups in the Spokane area are upset with proposals that could see dozens of trains loaded with coal destined for the Far East move through the city every day.


STATE HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL - The Lady Bronc volleyball team will open the state tournament in Casper this afternoon at 3:00 against Riverton.

Big Horn will play Thermopolis this evening at 6:00 in their opening match and the Arvada/Clearmont girls head into the 1-A bracket they will face Burlington tonight at 7:30.

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Bronc football team will open the 4-A football playoff at home tomorrow against Rock Springs we will broadcast all the action live for you on 14-10 KWYO and 95.9 FM.

Jo Co Airport Projects Complete, Mgr Offered Contract

The slide repair on the runway at the Johnson County Airport and the installation of the new PAPI lights are completed, according to Tom Newell, with the Johnson County Airport Board.

Jo Co Sports Weekend Starts Today

A busy weekend is at hand for Johnson County athletes as playoffs and state tournaments get underway today.
In volleyball, the State Tournament will begin today in Casper.
The Kaycee Lady Bucs, #1 in the East, will play #4 from the West Hanna/Elk Mountain today at 3pm at the Casper Events Center.
Arvada-Clearmont, #4 from the East, will play #1 from the West Burlington at 7:30 tonight, also at the Casper Events Center.
The Lady Bison swimmers will be at the State Meet in Gillette today and Friday.
Representing Buffalo will be Hannah Chapin, Sara Ott, Caley Stafford,

Buffalo's New School Will Get Additional Funds If Needed

At a meeting with the School Facilities Department last week, the Johnson County School District was awarded more than a half-million dollars for infrastructure at the new intermediate school now being planned.

It was a night of anticipation wrapped with excitement at Fremont Toyota Wednesday night as the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce wound up their annual fundraising event.

A State Meet in Gillette awaits the Lady Broncs

The Sheridan Lady Bronc Swimmers and Divers are headed to the Aquatic Center in Gillette for the 2011 Girls' State Swimming & Diving Meet. Warm-ups start at 1:00 pm Friday with the 4A Diving Prelims set for 3:00 pm followed by the Swimming Prelims - 30-minutes after the Diving concludes. Then at 10:00 am Saturday it will be time for the 4A Swimming & Diving Finals. Good Luck Lady Broncs!

Lady Broncs are Headed to & take State (updated)

The 4A East Regional Champion Sheridan Lady Broncs are again packing their bags for a trip south - this time not as far as Cheyenne as their destination is the Casper Events Center for the Class 4A - 2011 State Volleyball Tournament. Sheridan took on Riverton on Court 4A at 3:00 pm Thursday. Then Sheridan took on Campbell County on Friday at 4:30 pm.
