The Lady Broncs Host Gillette Tonight Varsity match tips at 7:00

LADY BRONC VOLLEYBALL - The Sheridan Lady Bronc volleyball team hosts their first conference match of the season tonight against Gillette. The varsity match is scheduled to get underway at 7:00.

SHS TENNIS - The Bronc and Lady Bronc tennis teams will play matches this afternoon at Natrona county. Saturday the Broncs will play at a tournament in Scottsbluff,Nebraska and all the JV's will play at a tournament in Casper.

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs host Cheyenne East Friday night both teams are 1-0 after the Broncs won at KW 35-0 and East beat Green River at home 33-30.

SEEDA Discusses Transfer Of High Tech Park, WYO Project

The Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority, or SEEDA, is considering the possibility of transferring ownership of the high tech park that is currently under development in Sheridan. This joint powers board—comprised of members from the City of Sheridan, Sheridan College and Sheridan's School District—discussed this proposal at their board meeting last night.

“Back To School”--Not Just For Students

It is “back to school” week again in our local communities. This includes Sheridan College, where regular classes start today. College President Dr. Paul Young:

However, Dr. Young also “attended summer school,” if you will, beginning his tenure as college president June 1st.

Prescribed Burns Planned For Bighorn National Forest Land

The Bighorn National Forest has announced that there will be several prescribed burns this fall. BHNF Staff Officer Bernie Bornong explains that the prescribed burns encompass a number of different areas of the forest.

Volunteers Needed for 2nd Annual Scratch-N-Sniff Fun Day at the Park

Fun was had by all at last year's Scratch-N-Sniff Fun Day at Kendrick Park.

The Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter is looking for volunteers to help with the 2nd annual Scratch-N-Sniff Fun Day that will take place Saturday, September 18th at Kendrick Park in Sheridan.

Feds Issue Fine for Radiation Levels at Power Plant Near Wheatland

The NRC has issued a fine to Basin Electric for improper radiation levels at a power plant near Wheatland, Wyoming.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission says six workers at a power plant near Wheatland were exposed to improperly high levels of radiation last year. The federal agency proposes to fine Basin Electric Power Cooperative nearly $25,000 for the incident at its coal-fired Laramie River Station plant.

Massie Meets Supporters Saturday

Democratic hopeful for Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction, Mike Massie, was in town over the weekend, hosting a BBQ at Kendrick Park.  A group of twenty-some enthusiastic supporters turned out Saturday to meet and encourage the candidate, who is  touting a message of excellence. Massie defines the virtue.
