Series Finale: Simpson on Budget Criticisms

We conclude our series today on the response from fellow candidates regarding Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Ron Micheli's criticism of the budgeting process throughout the Freudenthal years. Candidate Colin Simpson feels it's unfair to be over critical of the budget increases while Governor Freudenthal has been in office.

School District One Approves Budget

The Sheridan County School District One Board of Trustees approved their budget for fiscal year 2010-2011 at their monthly meeting Wednesday night. The District budgeted $14.3 million in projected revenue, which is a a 3.6% increase from last year, and $14.1 in expenditures, which is a 5.5% increase.

Local Hair Salon is Taking Care of Vets

Starting in May of this year, True Colors Salon and Training Center in Sheridan began providing a special service for female Veterans as part of National Military Appreciation Month. That service has extended on through the summer explains True Colors Owner Stevie Phillips.

Iekel Announces Candidacy for College Board

Jerry Iekel has announced his candidacy for Trustee on the Northern Wyoming Community College District Board.

Former State Representative Jerry Iekel has announced that he will file as a candidate for one of the three Trustee positions on the Northern Wyoming Community College District Board. Iekel explains what lead him to the decision to run.

Federal Stimulus Funds Make Up NWCC Shortfalls

The Northern Wyoming Community College District Board of Trustees adopted their budget for the '10-'11 fiscal year Wednesday. Administration Vice President Cheryl Heath says this year's operating budget, which is just over 22-million, incorporates tuition, state appropriations and the 4-mil assessment received from Sheridan County:

Mark Englert Next Gillette College VP; Two Positions Open at Sheridan College

Dr. Mark Englert will soon be heading to Gillette College to become their next Vice President. He is currently serving as the Vice President for Student Enrollment at Sheridan College, and was nominated by Dr. Paul Young, the recently-selected President of Sheridan College.

Morrison Probation Revoked; On to Prison

On April 20th of this year, 19-year-old Zachery Morrison was given a suspended sentence and supervised probation per a plea agreement with the State. Morrison had plead guilty in December on one count of sexual abuse of a minor.



SHERIDAN YOUTH POST SEASON BASEBALL - The Sheridan little league team is 2-0 in pool play at the state little league state tournament in Riverton, a day after blowing out Kemmerer the Sheridan team beat Rawlins 17-0 yesterday. They continue pool play today against Gillette. 16 teams are competing at the state tournament.

The 13 year old babe Ruth state tournament opens in Sheridan today with the Sheridan team playing Riverton this evening at 6:00. The tournament is being played at Redle field in Thorne-rider park.
