July 4th Spectacular at the Equestrian Center

Fireworks at the Big Horn Equstrian Center light up the night sky.

The annual July 4th Spectacular Fireworks Show at the Big Horn Equestrian Center has expanded over the last few years to include live music as part of the pre-fireworks festivities. This year's show will be no exception as The Powder River Boys will be playing Sunday night from 7:30 to 9:30. Prior to their performance, Celtic Sage will kick off a night of music at 6 o'clock.

VOA Receives MLB Trust Grant

Volunteers of America Wyoming/Montana has announced that they have been awarded $16,000 by Major League Baseball and the Baseball Players Trust. VOA Community Affairs Director Ethan Boone explains what the grant will go toward.

Rec. Board Holds Special Meeting to Discuss Salaries

The Sheridan Recreation District Board of Trustees held a special meeting Wednesday night that consisted of the Board holding an executive session regarding salaries and wage increases.

Recreation District Director Richard Wright says that no action was taken by the Board after coming out of executive session.

The culmination of the 2010 week-long Y-ARTS Theatre Camp will be tomorrow at The WYO. Sheridan Media's Mary Jo Johnson has the details.


TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers played in Sturgis, South Dakota last night and earned a split.

Sturgis took game one 9-6 but the Troops came back with strong pitching from Matt Jones to take the second game 8-1. Jones struck out seven in the victory, Devin Rogeau had a Double in each game and scored four times.

The Troops play their next four on the road, they head to Cody tomorrow and Riverton Monday before returning home next Wednesday in a return double header with Sturgis.
