Ucross Fireworks Extravaganza

Ucross fireworks extravaganza is Saturday night.

The 29th annual fireworks extravaganza at the Ucross Foundation will take place this Saturday. Ucross President Sharon Dynak says the evening will begin at 5 o'clock with an art gallery opening and meet and greet with the artists.

Council Approves Community Assessment Resolution

Sheridan City Councilman Ryan Mulholland

The Sheridan City Council held a special meeting Tuesday, where they approved a resolution allowing the City to participate in Phase Two of the Wyoming Rural Development Council's Community Assessment Program. Phase One of the assessment took place in early 2004, when 850 residents were interviewed face-to-face about needs within the community.

Andrew Joy Receives Sentence

Former Sheridan firefighter Andrew Joy, age 31, received Deferred Prosecution and one to five years probation per terms of a plea agreement in 4th Judicial District Court this morning. Joy had plead guilty to one count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Hydrocodone on April 22nd.

Suicide Prevention "Out of the Darkness" Walk

Suicide is a national health problem that takes an enormous toll on family, friends, co-workers and the entire community. In recent years, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention has established community walks under the banner “Out of the Darkness.”

First Concert in the Park Tonight

The annual “Sounds of Summer” Concerts in the Park Series opens the 2010 season with Tuesday evening performances, starting tonight at the Kendrick Park Bandshell in Sheridan. The community concert band will be on stage for four of the concerts, and event coordinator David Kuzara tells us how that group is comprised.

Austin Woodward speaks about being honored with the "Millward Simpson" Award

Austin Woodward beats Green River to the goal line

AUSTIN WOODWARD - We announced yesterday that Sheridan high school Senior Austin Woodward became the 5th student from Sheridan high school to win the annual “Millward Simpson”award. The Simpson award goes to the top high school male and female athlete of the year for the state of Wyoming.

We caught up with Austin yesterday he says he had quite a senior year starting with November's Bronc state football championship.

Woodward received the Simpson award Saturday night in Casper and says the list of other nominees was impressive as he was surprised to be named this year's winner.
