Bison Come Up Short in Bid for State Title

Bison fall short of state championship

The Buffalo Bison hung tough for one half before the Douglas Bearcats pulled away in the second half to win the Class 3A State Championship in football Friday afternoon in Laramie.

Jace Jensen of Buffalo scored the first two touchdowns in the first quarter to give the Bison a 14-0 lead midway through the first quarter.

From that point on it was pretty much all Douglas Bearcats. Douglas scored twice in the second quarter to tie the game 14-14 at the half.

DFS Director Comments on Girls School Director Resignation

The recent announcement that Clark Fairbanks has resigned as Director of the Wyoming Girls School in Sheridan to accept a similar position in Gillette has brought nothing but praise from his colleagues. Wyoming DFS Director Tony Lewis.

WYOMING STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND - Two of the five Wyoming high school football state championship games will be played in Laramie this afternoon.

Little Snake River plays Hanna-Elk Mountain in the 6-Man game at noon. The Buffalo Bison will take on the Douglas Bearcats in the 3-A championship at 3:00.

2-A STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP - The Big Horn Rams play Thermopolis tomorrow morning at 10:00 in the 2-A final.
