Hard Loss For JV Girls Soccer

This last Friday April 8th the JV girls soccer team competed against Laramie. The weather was cold with blowing wind and it spiting rain but that didn't stop the girls from playing hard. They kept Laramie back during the first half almost scoring multiple times. During the second half still tied at zero the Lady Broncs still pushed Laramie back almost scoring again. But after 10 min.

4th Graders Enjoy Wild West Show

This last Friday April 8th, Sheridan High School hosted a assembly for the 4th Grade classes in their auditorium. The Assembly was to help further there knowledge on the Wild West. The Speaker did this with humor and song playing the guitar, banjo, mandolin, and fiddle. The 4th graders loved it as they sang and clapped along to a lot of the songs while learning about the west.

Royalty on display at SHS

Following the grand march Saturday evening at Sheridan High School the Prom Royalty for the 2011 "SHS Prom Masquerade!" was announced with - Kayla Woodward and Cole Gustafson being crowned Queen and King respectively. The Prince and Princess honors went to Gabe Dahmke and Katelynn Julian. For more royalty and more prom scroll down.

The red hot Lady Broncs hand the Lady Plainsmen their first loss

The 5 and 0 two-time defending state soccer champ Lady Plainsmen came into Friday nights match ranked #2 and took on the #4 ranked Lady Broncs in a Friday night match on Scott Field in Sheridan. On the cold evening the red hot Lady Broncs iced the Lady Plainsmen with three goals in the 2nd half to come away with a 3 - 0 victory.

Friday morning, high school golfers opened play at the Kendrick Golf Course in Sheridan for the Tongue River/Big Horn Invite. The weather was iffy and chilly but the rain held off for the most part and play got underway at 10:00 am. Scroll down to see some of the local golfers in action:

One reason why school buses in Wyoming are required by law to operate with their headlights on is so that they can be seen - it also helps if motorists have good working windshield wiper blades and turn them on especially on days like Tuesday afternoon when the rain was coming down.

Jr. High Art Extravaganza

On Tuesday SAGE opened the Sheridan Junior High School Art Extravaganza at the Sheridan College Main Street Campus location - 171 N. Main Street. A reception is scheduled for Thursday evening at 6:30 pm. with Tony Sawyer's Jr. High Choir participating. Among the types of art on display until April 29th are sheetrock carvings, pin hole photography, leather, acrylic, marker, oil and paper mosaic.

An artist reception for Dean States was held on Tuesday on the Mezzanine of the Sheridan County Fulmer Library. This last Friday and Saturday April 1st and 2nd the Wesleyan Church held a conference. Eric and Leslie Ludy are a couple traveling the nation speaking on the topics of love, romance, the other gender, sex, and many other things similar. During the Conference they spoke about how they both had bad relationships until they let God lead them to whoever he wanted them to date.

Lady Broncs Open Conference Soccer Play

On a cool, wet Thursday evening the Lady Broncs opened Conference soccer play at home on Scott Field against the Campbell County Camels. The Lady Broncs held the Camels to one goal in the first half thanks in part to defense like that shown here where Sheridan's goalie Jacey Repisis with help from #14 Afton Bateman successfully defended the kick by Gillette's Brittney Lacek.

"All Aboard for the Historical Tour of Eastern Sheridan County" and then Sheridan Community Land Trust (SCLT) Executive Director, Colin Betzler introduced local historian Billie Little who took over and guided the group of 24 as they explored the historic Piney Creek and Clear Creek Valleys with stops at several homestead ranches, historic structures and the town of Clearmont on Saturday.

All Out in Cody

This last Saturday March 26th the Sheridan Bronc track team went to Cody to compete in there first meet as a full team. All the athletes went out and competed as hard as they could to set there marks to beat later in the season. The Cody invite also has other incentives to do well. If they were JV the athletes that won their event got a free T-Shirt.

It was a rainy Friday night in Sheridan as the lights reflected off the wet pavement. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 9:00 pm Friday evening until 6:00 pm Saturday. The rain shown here will change to snow by late Friday evening. Snow . . . heavy at times . . . will continue into Saturday and taper off late in the day. Snow accumulation between 6 to 8 inches will occur through Saturday.

Generals Named All Region Nine

Three Sheridan College Generals have been named to the All Region Nine: First Team - Jerrell Crayton, Second Team - Lamont Prosser, and All Defensive Team - Khion Sankey. In addition, the Coach-of-the-Year is Steve Smiley of Sheridan College who is seen watching Khion Sankey in frame #3 during a game against Gillette College.
