Passing the Check

City of Sheridan Mayor, Dave Kinskey, and members of the City Council presented Sheridan College President, Paul Young, with a $125,000 check last Friday.

The check is the result of resolution 16-13, passed unanimously by the City Council last month to support an additional instructor in the Machine Tool Technology Program at Sheridan College for four years.

Officials with Sheridan Memorial Hospital continue to work out the details of offering urgent care for their patients. Hospital Chief of Staff Dr. John Addlesperger says that they plan on utilizing space in the Emergency Department.

RR Crossings to Close Temporarily

Sand Hill Cranes

This image shows Sandhill Crane color variation. They have mostly grayish feathers. Although the feathers are gray, sometimes they can have a reddish-brown appearance. The reason for the change in color is that the Sandhill Cranes preen themselves by rubbing mud on their feathers. The mud can be brown or red. The red mud comes from iron rich environments. This picture was taken on April 1st.

Big Goose Hawk

Full Worm Moon

By the time you rise on Wednesday the March Full Moon will have passed - the full moon is 3:27 am MDT. Native Americans kept track of the seasons by giving the month in which the full moon occurs a distinctive name. March has the distinction of being called the Full Worm Moon. As the ground starts to thaw with warming temperatures earthworms began to appear signaling the return of the robins.

WYO Theater Renovation is Underway

The Board of Directors for the WYO Theater in Sheridan, along with Trustees from Sheridan College have announced that deconstruction of the Perkins Building at 32 North Main Street has begun.
