Buffalo Mayor Mike Johnson proclaimed April 5th as National Service Recognition Day in Buffalo, honoring volunteers and those who help by donating their time and efforts in their local communities.

Named and honored specifically in the proclamation was Americorps and Seniorcorps.

Police Chief's Report Includes Tobacco Compliance Checks

Buffalo Police Chief Jason Carder, during his end of the month report for March to the city council this week, said that on March 30th, his officers had conducted tobacco compliance checks at 17 different locations, using an under age buyer. Only one establishment, DJ's Thriftway, sold tobacco products to the minor.
