Sheridan co-rec state runner up softball team.

The state tournament was held in Powell. They lost to Cole sports from Gillette 13-11 in the 10th inning in the title game.

US AM GOLF - Former Sheridan Bronc golfer Taylor Reed was eliminated from the US Amateur golf championships in Denver Tuesday. He opened play Monday at Cherry Hills country club and shot a 5 over par 76 his second round score was 80.

Reed was the only Wyoming golfer in this year's field nearly 300 players qualified for this year's event which used two different courses for the stroke play format over the first and second rounds.

The top 64 players start match play today.


There were two tournament finals played on Sunday August 12, The Powder Horn Cup; and the D.A. Davidson Cup.

It was the Dog & Cat Shelter Benefit day at the Big Horn Equestrian Center.

In the Powder Horn Cup, Sheridan Seed Co. defeated Hammer Chevrolet 7-3.

MVP, sponsored as always by Kiwi Katering, was Mili Galindo of Hammer Chevrolet.

Best Playing Pony was “Confetti”, played by Mili Galindo.

US AM GOLF - Former Sheridan Bronc golfer Taylor Reed opened play yesterday at the US Amateur golf championships in Denver.

The top 64 players after today's round qualify for the match play format for the rest of the tournament.

Monday Reed played at Cherry Hills country club and shot a 5 over par 76 his tee time today is at 12:45. The leader fired a 7-under par 64 yesterday.

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football team is 11 days away from their season opener at Cheyenne central. Head coach Don Julian says so far so good the first week.


EAGLES FOOTBALL - The Tongue River Eagles is back today football as team returns this season after the 2011 season was canceled because of the lack of players.

Veteran Wyoming high school and college coach John Scott is taking over the coaching duties this fall, as the Eagles prepare to start two a day practice today Scott talks about challenges they face in getting the program going again.

And Scott says the job of the coaches and players is not to look back but to move forward with the 2012 season.
