Bronc wrestlers look to build on team success from 2014 and 2015 / Bronc / Lady Bronc hoops open their season next week in Riverton / Cowboys play at DU tomorrow / Cowgirls at the Zags Thursday

BRONC WRESTLING - The Sheridan Bronc wrestlers have finished 3rd the last two seasons at the state championships, Head coach Tyson Shatto says they hit the mat with a lot of intensity this week.

And he says building momentum early is key to getting off to a good start.

They open their season with a dual in Worland next week on Thursday and compete in the Rapid City invitational next weekend.

Their first home matches will be January 2nd when they host the Border War duals with the big three schools from Billings.

HIGH SCHOOL WINTER SPORTS - The 2015-16 high school winter sports season begins today with opening practice for basketball, wrestling and boys swimming and diving.

The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams will open their season at a three day tournament in Riverton starting December 10th.

The Broncs don't have a home game until January 15th when they open conference play. The Lady Broncs will play one home game before January that will be December 18th against Billings West.

Both teams have game at the Energy classic tournament in Gillette Sunday December 27th.

Sheridan College adds Douglas standout Kiersten Leach
Sheridan College volleyball is pleased to announce the addition of Wyoming standout Kiersten Leach a 5’10” middle hitter from Douglas, WY.

“It’s always great to be able to sign local talent to our roster,” said SC head coach Jennifer Stadler. “Kiersten come from a great high school program that really develops athletes at a high level.

Kiersten’s high school program made it to the quarterfinals at state this year and won state last year for 3A volleyball. “

41st Annual Sheridan Lions club basketball tournament tips off today / Cowgirls at home tonight / Pokes football and hoops double header tomorrow

SC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals will host the 41st annual Sheridan Lions club tournament this weekend games times today are 2:00, 4:00, 6:00 and 8:00 and noon, 2:00, 4:00 and 6:00 tomorrow.

Generals Head coach Matt Hammer says spectators should see some good basketball this weekend.

Lady Generals Head coach Frank McCarthy says it's nice to get more home games.

And the Lady Generals have a chance to get over the .500 mark this weekend as well.

BRONC FOOTBALL - The 2015 Sheridan Bronc football team capped off their state championship season last night with their post season awards dinner and program.

Head coach Don Julian says it is a great night but tough to see this team together for the last time.

We also talked with three of the Bronc Seniors first up wide receiver and defensive back Dontae Crow he had a great night in the title game with nearly 300 yards of total offense himself and said it was a great season.

WYOMING ALL-STATE FOOTBALL SELECTIONS - Wyoming All-state football awards have been announced as expected several players from our Sheridan county teams received those honors.

6-MAN - The NSI Wolves had two players make the 6-man football all-state team they are Jami Hale and Dezmen Patron.

1-A - The Tongue River Eagles were the 1-A runner ups five Eagles made the all-state team, Cody Buller, Jaxn Kobza, Dillon Lyons, Brennan Kutterer and Jamie Dickerson.

SC Generals at NJC tomorrow / 41st Sheridan Lions club Hoops tournament at the Hoffman dome Friday and Saturday

SC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Generals play at Northeastern Colorado tomorrow night before coming home this weekend to host the 41st annual Sheridan Lions club tournament.

The Generals are 7-1 and Head coach Matt Hammer says his young squad will get a great challenge at NJC tomorrow.

The Lady Generals are 5-3 overall and will play the next two weeks at home Head coach Frank McCarthy says his young squad is getting better as they head into the next four games at home.
