LOCAL YOUTH BASEBALL - The state little league tournament is on going in Riverton team Sheridan will open bracket play today

The 13 year old Babe Ruth state tournament opened yesterday and continues today in Thorne-rider park and the Sheridan and the 14-15 year old Babe Ruth team is playing at their state tournament in Powell.

The Sheridan Jets open up the Wyoming American Legion “B” state tournament in Casper this morning they open with Laramie at 10:00.

The Sheridan Troopers will play Powell this afternoon in their district tournament in Cody that game will take place at 1:00.

Sheridan will host the state American Legion baseball tournament next week at Thorne-rider stadium.

LOCAL GOLF - The Powder Horn hosts it's largest event of the summer beginning today. The first round for the Summer Hummer is underway today. The tournament runs through Saturday.

The Sheridan Elks lodge will host a one club and putter golf tournament at Kendrick golf course Sunday afternoon the event will start at 4:00 and will be nine holes. The entry fee is 25 dollars per player. To enter stop by or call the Kendrick golf course pro shop.

The Sheridan high school booster club will host their golf tournament at the Powder Horn next Friday, August 30th. The tournament will shot gun start at 9:00 am and is a our person team scramble. To enter a team please contact Don Julian at Sheridan high school 672-2495 ex. 3106.

FALL HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS - Summer is running out as the Sheridan Bronc football team opens preseason drills Monday, August 9th. the rest of the fall high school sports start a week later. Sheridan high school Activities director Don Julian says summer has really flown by. And he has a reminder for all junior high and high school athletes.

LADY BRONC VOLLEYBALL CAMP FOR GIRLS - The Sheridan Lady Bronc volleyball team will host a one day camp for girls in the 4th - 6th grades. The camp will have a morning and afternoon session and will be held at the Sheridan county “Y”. They are taking preregistration at the “Y”. The cost is 40 dollars per camper and each camper receives and camp t-shirt. The Lady Broncs and their coaches will be the clinicians. Again preregistration is being take now at the “Y”

NHSFR - The National high school finals rodeo continues in Gillette. Sheridan's Nikki Baumann, Casey Collins and Buffalo's Megan Belus all continue competition today. The national finals ends his weekend.
