Bison Soccer Off, Other Sports A Go This Weekend

The Bison and Lady Bison soccer teams are off this weekend but all the other high school sports teams in Johnson County will be in action.

The Bison golf team will host a good sized tournament on Saturday at the Buffalo Golf Club. Fourteen teams will be here to participate.

The Buffalo track and field team will host their Crazy Woman Invitational today. Big Horn, Tongue River, Greybull, NSI and Sheridan's JV will be participating.

Buffalo's Isaac Kiefer will be in Casper this evening at the Wyoming Track Classic, a best-of-the-best meet. He will compete in the 800-meter run.

WEEKEND SOCCER /TRACK / GOLF / BASEBALL

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Broncs play at home tonight against Cheyenne Central and tomorrow against East the Lady Broncs are playing in Cheyenne.

The Lady Broncs have only one loss on the season they already have regular season victories over both Central and East. Head coach Tom Racette says it's been a great year for Lady Bronc soccer.

And he says they expect to see great challenges in both matches.

A BUSY LOCAL SPORTS SCHEDULE THIS WEEK

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Sheridan high school soccer teams lead their conference races with three regular season matches to play. They play Cheyenne Central and East this week and will finish up at home next week with Gillette.

The Broncs play at home varsity game times are 6:00 tomorrow against Cheyenne Central and noon Saturday vs Cheyenne East the Lady Broncs play in Cheyenne.

Bison Soccer Update, Look Ahead to Final Week

The Buffalo High School soccer teams have this weekend off but will then wrap their regular seasons up next week with three matches Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in preparation for the Regional Tournament May 11 and 12.

Cowboy Basketball Coach Larry Shyatt

COWBOY JOE CLUB - We have more today from Monday's Wyoming Cowboy Joe club visit to Sheridan as we hear from Cowboy basketball coach Larry Shyatt and more from Athletics Director Tom Burman.

The Cowboy basketball team more than doubled their win total this past season as Larry Shyatt returned to the university to take over the Men's basketball program.

In 2009 ans 2010 the Pokes won a total of 20 games combined Shyatt led them to 21 victories this past season and got them into the college basketball invitation tournament.

WYOMING COWBOY JOE CLUB - The Wyoming Cowboy Joe club held their spring membership fund drive reception last night at the Sheridan Holiday Inn.

UW Athletic Director om Burman was on hand for last night's festivities.

Over the last decade new athletic facilities have been built and several renovated next on the list will be the 30 year old "Arena Auditorium" Burman says the renovation work won't start for a while.

And he says when the renovation is finished the "Double AA" will have a complete different look.

Weekend Soccer Stats For Buffalo High School Teams

The Bison and Lady Bison soccer teams both took care of business last Friday by beating their counterparts from Rawlins.
The boys beat the Outlaws 3-0 and the girls beat the lady Outlaws 9-0.

For the girls, Kaitlynn Armstrong scored two goals, and one each was scored by Olivia Spanos, Caley Stafford, Charlotte McIntyre, Teneil Schumacher, Caley Stafford, Sammy Burton and Rileigh Olsen.

Armstrong and Addi Verger had two assists each and Eklund, McIntyre and Jordan Snyder each had one assist.

Jenna Anderson had one save at goalkeeper for the Lady Bison.

TRACK / SOCCER / GOLF WEEKEND HIGHLIGHTS

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams played Laramie Friday night the Broncs won and the Lady Broncs dropped their first match of the season.

The Broncs avenged a loss to the plainsmen from three weeks ago by beating them in overtime 2-1, they went out as expected and blew out Cheyenne South 10-0 Saturday.

The Broncs now lead the conference race with Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne East coming to Sheridan to play this week.
