WINTER SPORTS RECAP / POKES OPEN MWC HOOPS TOURNEY

SHS WINTER ACTIVITIES - The winter sports season closed out Saturday and now we head into the spring season this week with the start of soccer and outdoor track, spring golf starts in a couple of weeks.

We sat down with Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian says the winter season didn't produce any state champion teams but there were plenty of success stories.

And that the spring sports have begun practice he's happy to announce the numbers continue to stay strong for those programs and the Lady Bronc soccer program has seen an increase this spring.

And he says the success isn't just in athletics but in other activities as well.

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Sheridan high school soccer teams open the regular season opens Friday against Riverton the Broncs will play at home the Lady Broncs play on the road. JV's will play at 4:00 the varsity will go at 6:00.

The Bronc and Lady Bronc track teams open their season on Saturday, at the Casper "Earlybird" invitational.

BRONC / LADY BRONC GOLF - The Bronc and Lady Bronc golfers will begin their season Monday, March 25th with their first day of practice. The first spring tournament is scheduled for Worland April 5th.

MWC BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT - The Wyoming Cowboys and Cowgirls will be in Las Vegas this week for the Mountain West conference tournament.

The Pokes open tonight against Nevada. we will have the game live for you on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM. Pregame starts at 5:30 with the tip at 6:00. the winner advances to play top seed New Mexico Wednesday night.

The Cowgirls open the tournament Thursday against Colorado state pregame is at 9:00 tip at 9:30 on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM ESPN radio.
