Weekend sports wrap up

BRONC WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers finished 2nd behind Gillette in the east regional tournament now it's on to the state championships, matches begin at 9:00 Friday morning at the Casper events center.

BH / TR BASKETBALL - The Big Horn and Tongue River basketball teams have regional tournament play this week.

The Eagles will play Wright in Dayton at 5:30 this evening in a "play- in" game to get into the tournament which gets underway Thursday at Cheyenne East high school.

The Big Horn Lady Rams will open Thursday night against Burns the Tongue River Lady Eagles play the winner of a play in game between Saratoga and Lusk and the Big Horn Rams will play the winner of today's play in game between Southeast and Saratoga,

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Lady Broncs beat Cheyenne Central and lost at East by 5 on Saturday

The broncs swept both Cheyenne schools picking up a nice win Saturday against East, Head coach Gale Smith.

And Smith says they had to have both games and the players had a great weekend on the court.

Gillette still leads the East conference race with the Broncs and T-Birds right behind them and Smith says the battle for the two seed in the regional tournament is still up for grabs between the Broncs and East high.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs play at Gillette Friday to end the regular season the Lady Broncs beat Gillette 10 in Sheridan while the Broncs lost to the Camels by 10, Smith says it should be a great game.

The girls tip at 5:30 the boys at 7:30 and you can hear both games live on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM.

SC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college basketball teams split their games at Central Wyoming the Lady Generals lost 72-69 while the Generals won 70-62.

UW BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys lost at CSU Saturday while the Cowgirls blew out CSU at home.

Tomorrow night the Pokes host the Air Force academy you can hear the game live on KWYO and 87.7 FM broadcast time is 6:30. The Cowgirls will play at the academy Wednesday night.

BRONC SWIMMING - The Bronc swimmers will be the state swimming and diving championships Friday in Gillette.

INDOOR TRACK - The bronc and Lady Bronc indoor track teams have their final regular season meet Thursday in Gillette.
