BRONC SOCCER - The Bronc soccer team swept conference games from the Cheyenne schools. They beat Cheyenne East in overtime 3-2 and came back with a 4-0 shut out of Cheyenne Central.

Head coach Kevin Riser says the players really had to extend themselves in the second game after going overtime the night before

The first round of conference play is over and the Broncs sit at 3-2 with losses at Laramie and Kelly Walsh.

The Broncs host Gillette tomorrow night and Riser says they need to be sharp.

But overall Riser was pleased with their play against the Cheyenne schools because it is very tough to sweep those two games.

LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Lady Broncs played in Cheyenne they lost at Central 4-1 in overtime and came back to get a split by beating Cheyenne East 1-0 Saturday.

The Lady Broncs will play at Gillette tomorrow the Camels won the first game of the year 3-0 in Sheridan three weeks ago.

BRONC / LADY BRONC TRACK AND FIELD - The Bronc and Lady Bronc track teams were in Billings for a big invitational Saturday.

The Lady Broncs finished 6th while the Broncs ended up in 7th place.

Top finishers for the Lady Broncs: Clarie Korpela was 4th in the 300 hurdles and 8th in the 200 meters, Ballie Dannels was 4th in the 400 meters.

Katie Rotellini was 2nd in the 800 meters and Lauren Buyan was 4th on the 300 meter hurdles and 8th at 800 meters.

The Lady Broncs also picked up points finishing 5th in the 4x400 relay.

For the Broncs Dylan Morin won the 3200 meters, in the 1600 meters Micheal Rotellini was 3rd and Kyle Dietsche was 6th.

In the 110 meter hurdles Kyle Roberts was 6th and Aaron Campbell had a big day for the Broncs placing in four events in both hurdle races and also top five finishes in the high jump and triple jump.

The Broncs also got relay points by placing in the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays.

This week Sheridan high school will be hosting the annual "Dan Hansen" Sheridan invitational meet Thursday events will get underway at 10:00 am.

The Big Horn, Tongue River and NSI teams will also be competing Thursday.

ROCKIES - The Colorado Rockies took two out of three from the Chicago Cubs over the weekend. Yesterday they scored four runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to break a 5-5 tie and win 9-5.

The Rockies still have the best record in MLB at 12-4 overall. They host a series beginning tonight with the San Francisco Giants.
