BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams went 5-1 at the Flaming Gorge classic.
The Lady Broncs didn't get much of a challenge with three blowout victories Head coach Jessica Pickett.
They stand at 6-1 overall heading into the Christmas break and Pickett says they'll go back to work in a few days to get ready for the new year which begins January 9th in Riverton.
And Pickett says the first seven games were a tune up for what's to come after the first of the year including starting conference play.
The Broncs had quite a weekend they started off with a ten point loss then a comeback for the ages against Rock Springs, they were down 11 points with 6:30 to play and went on a scoring barrage and won by 11 scoring 36 points in 6:30 minutes to win the game 77-66.
They closed out the tournament with a 78-71 win over Union high school from Roosevelt, Utah after that win Head coach Gale Smith said they finished the weekend strong.
The Broncs are off to a 6-1 start and have played very well and Smith says they'll make the most of their time off and get a few days in the gym before heading to Riverton for three games on January 9th.
RAMS / EAGLES BASKETBALL - In other weekend basketball the Big Horn Lady Rams and Tongue River Lady Eagles each won two and lost one at the Foothills classic tournament over in Fremont county.
The Rams went 2-1 while the Eagles dropped all three of their games.
BRONC WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers ended their December schedule placing 5th as a team at the Worland duals Saturday.
COWGIRL BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowgirls won at Idaho Saturday 72-64 Fallon Lewis led the way with 23 points and 11 rebounds, Kayla Woodward had 17 points and 9 rebounds. They are off until January 4th when they open MWC play at home against Nevada.
COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Cowboys play Western state Colorado on January 1st at home then open league play on January 4th at Nevada.
SC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college basketball teams will play games at home January 2nd against Malstrom air force base from Montana but the big night will be Saturday January 4th when they host their conference rivals from Casper college.
They will also host their boys and girls one day basketball camp Sunday January 5th. The camps are for all kids kindergarten through 8th grade. Ror registration information go to their web site at scgenerals.com.
