WEEKEND LOCAL SPORTS WRAP UP

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER- The Sheridan high school soccer teams played Riverton to overtime ties to begin the season Friday.

The Lady Broncs and Wolverines played to a scoreless draw while the Broncs and Wolverines went to overtime and tied 2-2.

Saturday both teams played three matches at a jamboree in Casper the matches were shortened to 26 minute halves.

The Lady Broncs beat Kelly Walsh 3-0 and lost against Rock Springs 2-1 and Natrona county 1-0.

The Broncs beat Rock Springs 3-0, beat Natrona county 4-0 and dropped a 2-1 decision to Kelly Walsh.

After the tie with Riverton to open the season Head coach Kevin Riser was pleased with the Broncs overall effort. And he says the youthful Broncs will take a while to develop that good team chemistry.

And he says they will see great improvement this week.

The Broncs and Lady Bronc JV'S host matches tomorrow with Gillette the girls varsity will play at 4:00 and the boys at 6:00.

TRACK AND FIELD - The Bronc and Lady Bronc track teams both placed 5th at the Casper invitational meet Saturday the Tongue River Lady Eagles were 12th and the Eagles 13th.

Champions at the meet for Sheridan high school included Lady Broncs Shayla Christensen winning the shot put and Zoe Sherman winning the 800 meters.

For Tongue River Josiah Huff took the boys 400 meters and Sarah Nielsen was 2nd in the shot put.

TROOPER / JETS BASEBALL - Sheridan American Legion baseball will host their annual player / parent meeting Wednesday at Sheridan high school.

The meeting will take place Wednesday at 6:00 pm in the Sheridan high school cafeteria all Jets and Troopers players and parents are asked to attend.

COWBOY HOOPS - The Wyoming Cowboys will play the CBI basketball tournament. The 16 team tournament opens tomorrow with the Pokes hosting Lehigh University.

COWGIRL HOOPS - The Wyoming Cowgirls play the waiting game the Women's NCAA tournament field will be announced tonight and the WNIT will follow with it's announcement.
