WYO HS FOOTBALL RANKINGS - The 4-A football rankings got a shuffle this week after the Sheridan Broncs beat previous #1 Green River last Friday. The Broncs have now moved up two spots from #5 to #3 this week.
Gillette takes over the #1 spot, followed by Cheyenne Central. They are the only unbeaten teams in 4-A. The Broncs follow at #3, Green River is #4 and Casper Kelly Walsh rounds out the Top 5.
In the 3-A poll, Douglas is on top, followed by Buffalo. In the 2-A rankings, Glenrock holds the top spot. The Big Horn Rams couldn't crack the Top 5 after last week's win at Burns. The Rams are 1-1, and sit in the 8th spot.
Southeast holds down the top spot in the 1-A poll, followed by Lusk, Cokeville, Lingle and Wind River.
Guernsey is #1 in the 6-man poll, with Hanna #2, Midwest at #3, Kaycee at #4 and Meeteesee #5.
BH FOOTBALL - Big Horn comes back home this week after a nice road win in Week 2 at Burns. The Rams host Wright in their Homecoming game; they'll play at Homer Scott Stadium Friday night at 7 o'clock.
TR FOOTBALL - The Tongue River Eagles are looking for their first win of the season; they stand at 0-2 as they get ready to play Moorcroft Friday afternoon. We will broadcast the game live on AM 1410 KWYO Ron Richter will have the play by play the First Federal pregame show starts at 1:45 with kickoff at 2 o'clock.
NSI FOOTBALL - The NSI Wolves are also looking for their first win of the season after starting 0-2. They will play at home Saturday night against Upton. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 o'clock.
BRONC FOOTBALL - The Broncs take to the road this week, heading south. They've won two straight, and face off with Rock Springs. We will broadcast the game on AM 1410 KWYO; the First Federal Savings Bank pre-game show will begin the broadcast at 6:30. The Broncs and Tigers kick off at 7 o'clock.
UW - The Wyoming Cowboys head out on the road for the first time this season. They play in Boulder against CU. Cowboy pre-game will start at 12:30, with kick-off at 1:30 on KWYO.
NFL - The Denver Broncos play at home Sunday afternoon against the Cleveland Browns. The game can be heard on KWYO; pre-game is at 1 o'clock with kick-off at 2:15.
HS VOLLEYBALL - The Big Horn Lady Rams play their Homecoming match Friday against Wright. The varsity match will take place at 4 o'clock.
The Sheridan Lady Broncs will play on the road Friday and Saturday for Conference games in Cheyenne.
The Tongue River Lady Eagles play their Homecoming game Friday afternoon before the Eagles take the field for the Homecoming football game. The varsity match with Moorcroft will be played at noon.
SC VOLLEYBALL - The Sheridan College Lady Generals will play in the Hoffman Dome Saturday afternoon as they host a Wyoming Conference match with Casper College. The match is scheduled to start at 3 o'clock.
SHS CROSS-COUNTRY - The Broncs and Lady Broncs host the annual “Michelle Ludwig” Sheridan Invitational on the grounds of the VA. Running begins at 11 o'clock.
SHS TENNIS - The Sheridan High School tennis teams played matches at Casper Kelly Walsh yesterday. The Lady Broncs continue to roll, winning 4-1. The Broncs dropped the dual 4-1. The only Bronc on the winning side was Seth Stadick in #1 singles.
They play their final home matches of the season Friday and Saturday: they play Powell Friday at 4 o'clock and Saturday they'll go up against Cody at 10 o'clock.
COLLEGE GOLF - Former Sheridan Lady Bronc golfer and basketball player Kelsey Boedecker is in her junior season at Dickinson State University in North Dakota. In September, she plays golf until basketball pre-season practice begins next month. Monday, Boedecker led Dickinson State to a 2nd place finish at a tournament hosted by Valley City State. She fired rounds of 79 and 84 in windy conditions to take Medalist honors.
LOCAL GOLF - The 2nd Annual Matt Perkins Memorial Golf Tournament will be played Saturday at Kendrick Golf Course. The format is 2-person best ball. Get your teams together and stop by Kendrick or call 674-8148. They'll have a 9 o'clock shotgun start; the fee is $60 per player, which includes the golf, cart, lunch and pin prizes. Proceeds go to the Matt Perkins Memorial Scholarship Fund.
SC ATHLETICS - The Sheridan College Athletic Department will hold their 2nd Annual Fall Sports Kick-off BBQ next Tuesday at 5:30 at the Hoffman Dome. The BBQ is free for all Generals and Lady Generals fans, and it's a great chance to come out and meet all the players and coaches from the volleyball and basketball programs. Again it's FREE, and will start at 5:30 Tuesday at the Hoffman Dome.
