BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs find themselves at the top of the high school football heap for the second consecutive week. The Broncs picked up all but one 1st place vote in this week's balloting, outdistancing 2nd-ranked Green River. Cheyenne Central jumps to #3 this week after whipping Gillette. Last week, Gillette fell to #5, with Casper Kelly Walsh sitting in the 4th position.
The Broncs play at Evanston Friday night; we'll have it live for you on AM 1410 KWYO. The First Federal Pre-game Show will be on at 6:30 with kick-off at 7 o'clock.
RAMS FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams are in a must-win situation for the rest of the season. The Rams sit at 2-3 overall with three games to play. It looks like the Rams will have to win the next three games to have a shot at making the play-offs. It's been a tough season for the Rams; a program for the last decade that has been one of the dominating teams in 2-A has struggled this season with some bad luck, and now injuries are starting to mount up.
The Rams host Moorcroft Friday afternoon. That game will be our first game of the day on AM 1410 KWYO; the First Federal Pre-game Show will start at 12:45, with kick-off at 1 o'clock. Ron Richter will have the play-by-play. The game will be played at Homer Scott Stadium.
EAGLES / WOLVES FOOTBALL - The Tongue River Eagles and NSI Wolves will play on the road Friday night. The Eagles play at Newcastle and the Wolves are at Lingle.
UW - The Wyoming Cowboys have won two straight. The Pokes have New Mexico Saturday for Homecoming in Laramie. Broadcast time is at 11 o'clock with kick-off at noon on AM 1410 KWYO.
HS CROSS-COUNTRY - The Sheridan High School cross-country teams end the regular season tomorrow, running at a meet in Helena, Montana. Next week Sheridan hosts the North 4-A Regional Meet, and in two weeks the State Championships will be held in Sheridan.
SWIMMING AND DIVING - The Lady Broncs end their regular season this week; they host duals with Cody and Riverton Friday. They end the regular season at an Invitational meet in Gillette Saturday, then they head to Casper next week for their Conference Meet. Halloween weekend is the State Championships in Gillette.
VOLLEYBALL - The Sheridan Lady Broncs have matches on the road at Laramie and Casper Kelly Walsh. The Big Horn Lady Rams play at home tomorrow against Moorcroft; they play at Wright Friday night.
The Tongue River Lady Eagles will play a road double-header Saturday at Sundance in the afternoon and at Moorcroft in the evening.
The Sheridan College Lady Generals play at Dawson Community College in Glendive, Montana Thursday before heading to Williston, North Dakota for a tournament Friday and Saturday.
MLB - The Colorado Rockies open the Play-offs this afternoon. Ubaldo Jimenez will get the start for the Rocks today in the first game of the NLDS in Philadelphia. The game will start at 12:30 and will be broadcast on our HD Sports Station 93.7 FM HD Channel 2. The other Division series will have St. Louis at Los Angeles; Game 1 starts at 7:30.
The American League Division Series between the New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins begins tonight. Yesterday the Twins beat Detroit in their one-game play-off to advance to face the Yankees. The first pitch is at 4 o'clock this afternoon. The other American League Series begins tomorrow night with Boston opening at the L.A. Angels.
