UW SIGNS THREE MORE BAKETBALL PLAYERS

UW ATHLETICS - University of Wyoming Athletic Director Tom Burman joined other university athletic staff in Sheridan Wednesday for the annual Sheridan county Cowboy Joe membership kickoff.

Burman made the announcement two weeks ago that the University had hired one time men's basketball coach Larry Shyatt to become the Cowboys head coach once again a move Burman says the program really needed.

The Mountain West Conference will begin a makeover this fall with Boise state moving into the league, Utah and BYU leave, TCU goes in 2012 and Fresno state and Nevada come into the league next year and Burman says the Mountain West will continue to be a good conference.

And finally what about losing two long time Wyoming rivals Utah and BYU.

COWBOY BASKETBALL - Back to the Pokes new basketball coach Larry Shyatt, since leaving Wyoming 13 years ago Shyatt was the Head coach at Clemson before spending seven years as the associate head coach at the University of Florida which included back to back national titles in 2006 and 2007.

We asked Shyatt how he has changed as a coach in the last 13 years.

And the relationship between the University and the fans, with UW being the only four year school in the state.

Shyatt announced Thursday he has signed three more recruits they are 6 '9 center Lekan Ajayi from a prep Academy in Winston- Salem North Carolina, 6'1 guard Riley Grabau from Boulder, Colorado.

The third is 5'9 Point Guard Derrius Gilmore from Jones county Junior college in Ellisville, Mississippi Shyatt says he has one more scholarship to fill

UW WRESTLING - Also attending the function was Cowboy wrestling coach Mark Branch he says they are working hard at taking the program to the next level and says the sport of wrestling is very strong at the high school level in the state.

LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Lady Bronc soccer team gets back into action with road conference matches to Casper Kelly Walsh tonight and at Laramie tomorrow afternoon..

BRONC SOCCER - The Broncs host KW tonight the JV's will play at 4:00 with the varsity going at 6:00 tomorrow they host the defending state champs Laramie JV's go at 10:00 and the varsity at noon.

WYOMING TRACK CLASSIC - The Wyoming high school activities association will hold the annual Wyoming track and field classic in Casper on Monday, the event was suppose to be held today but has been postponed because of poor weather and travel conditions.

BRONC / LADY BRONC TRACK - The Bronc and Lady Bronc track teams are scheduled to head to Casper for a big invitational on tomorrow.

BRONC / LADY BRONC GOLF - The Sheridan high school golfers get back into this week with two tournaments one in Riverton today and the other in Casper tomorrow.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers open the American legion baseball season this weekend tomorrow and Sunday when they join Casper and Cheyenne for games in Gillette.

The Troops will play their home opener May 7th with a double header against Powell. We will be broadcasting the opener live on AM 14-10 KWYO

ROCKIES BASEBALL - - The Colorado Rockies open a home weekend series with the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight. You can hear tonight's game live on AM 14-10 KWYO broadcast time is set for 6:00.
