SHS SPORTS - There are only a couple of weeks left in the fall sports season, and we had a chance to visit with Sheridan High School Activities Director Don Julian.

Julian has the Bronc football team in the semi-finals this week, but that's not the only success this season for Sheridan High School. The Bronc golfers made a run at another State Title, while the volleyball team had their ups and downs.

The Lady Bronc tennis team also made a good run through the State Tournament, finishing as the runner-up. And the school also measured success this fall with victories over their closest rival.

Basketball and wrestling seasons start November 16th for SHS.

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Broncs host the Casper Kelly Walsh Trojans Friday night. Game time will be at 6 o'clock, and pre-sale tickets can be purchased at the high school through Thursday in the main office.

We will broadcast the game live Friday night on AM 1410 KWYO. We will be on the air at 5:30 with the First Federal Pre-game Show, and we are once again this week teaming with A.C.T. Communications to provide the live video Webcast of the game, providing a link to the Webcast at sheridamedia.com.

The Broncs have won nine straight since their season opening loss to KW. The Trojans broke that game open with three scores in the final six minutes of the first half and never looked back in the 42-20 win. Since then, the Broncs are 9-0 and had the best record in the league during the regular season.

The Trojans come into the game with a record of 6-4 overall. While Sheridan beat every other team in the state, Kelly took losses against Green River, Rock Springs, Gillette and Cheyenne Central. They avenged the loss to Green River, beating the Wolves last week 38-20.

ALL- STATE VOLLEYBALL - Three Sheridan County volleyball players have made All-State for 2009. Two come from the State Champion Big Horn Lady Rams: Shelby Brewer and Angela LoGuidice. Making the 2-A All-State team from Tongue River is Fallon Lewis.

UW FOOTBALL/BASKETBALL - The University of Wyoming will have a Cowboy football and basketball double-header Saturday. The football Cowboys continue with Mountain West Conference play Saturday at home against BYU. You can hear the game on KWYO; the pre-game show will start at 11 am, with kick-off at noon.

The basketball Cowboys open their season at home Saturday night against Regis University. That game will follow the football game, with pre-game at 5 o'clock and tip at 5:30, also live on KWYO.

SC VOLLEYBALL - The Sheridan College Lady Generals volleyball team will open their Region 9 Tournament Wednesday at Central Wyoming Community College in Riverton. They play Central Wyoming at 4 o'clock

SC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL - The Lady Generals basketball team will open their season at home, hosting a tournament Friday and Saturday. Games will be played Friday at 5 and 7 pm -- the first game will have Western Wyoming playing the College of Southern Idaho. The Lady Generals play North Idaho at 7 pm.

Saturday the games will be played at 1 and 3 pm. Western will play North Idaho in the first game, and the Lady Generals play CSI at 3 o'clock.

SC MEN'S BASKETBALL - The Generals will have this weekend off. Next week on the 13th and 14th they host the Sheridan Best Western Tournament. The schedule will have games next Friday at 5 and 7 pm; the Generals play the late game against the Wyoming All-Stars.

Saturday games times will be at 3 and 5 pm. The Generals play Otero Community College from La Junta, Colorado at 5 o'clock.

WORLD SERIES – The World Series will go to Game 6, the Phillies beat the Yankees last night 8-6. The Yanks tried to make a late run with four runs in the 8th and 9th Innings, but fell short. The “Bombers” lead the series 3-2 with Game 6 in the Bronx tomorrow night at 6:00.
