Tongue River point guard, Sarah Rawlings, has committed to Sheridan College to play basketball for the Lady Generals next season.
The 5’5 point guard led Tongue River to the 2A State Championship title the last two seasons, and held a 54-2 record over both seasons. Rawlings made All-Conference and All-State in her sophomore, junior, and senior years, and averaged 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in her senior season, while also being named 2A East Co-Player of the Year.
A multi-sport athlete, Rawlings played varsity volleyball for four seasons, making All-Conference and All-State her junior year, played varsity soccer, and also held a 3.83 GPA throughout school.
Rawlings will also be appearing in the Wyoming-Montana All-Star games on June 13th and 14th.
The last player from Tongue River to play for Sheridan College was Fallon Lewis.
Lewis had a great career at Sheridan College from 2010-2012, leading the team with 17 points and 9 rebounds, being a team captain, and an All-American. After two seasons at Sheridan College, Lewis continued her career at the University of Wyoming, starting every game her senior year, averaging 14 points and a team leading 10 rebounds per game, and also making All-Conference.
Sheridan College head Coach Frank McCarthy had this to say, “We are really excited Sarah has decided to attend Sheridan College. Without a doubt, she is one of the quickest and most competitive players we have ever recruited.
She has a real feel for the game. She has been in a lot of big games, and is used to winning (54-2 and 2 state championships the last two seasons). She has been coached by Dianne Moser, one of the top high school coaches in the state, so we know she will be sound fundamentally.
Not only does she excel on the court, she also is an exceptional student, with a 3.8 GPA.” Rawlings joins a Sheridan College team that has won the North Sub-Region 11 of the last 13 years.
The Lady Generals finished this past season with 19 wins. Rawlings joins Jess Underberg (Douglas) on the 2014-15 recruiting class.
