TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers lost 8-4 to Casper Wednesday night in their final home game of the season.
The Troops had problems at the plate all night and struggled just to get base runners and had only one hit through the 7th inning, Head coach Ben Phillips.
Casper led 4-1 going into the bottom of the 8th when the Troops finally got the offense going they scored 3 runs to tie the game but Casper put the game away scoring four times in the top of the 9th.
Starting pitcher Drew Adrieans went six innings with Connor Mcafferty coming on in relief and Phillips says they did a good job of keeping them in the game.
The Troopers end the regular season with a game at Casper Saturday and travel to Cheyenne next week for the State "AA" American Legion tournament play begins Wednesday.
"B" AMERICAN LEGION STATE TOURNEY - The Sheridan Jets will host the American Legion "B" state tournament set to begin this afternoon at Thorne-Rider stadium.
It will be pool play with two games today there will be four tomorrow and Saturday with the title game set for Sunday afternoon.
The first game today will be at 2:00 with Gillette playing Cheyenne the lets will play Casper at 7:00.
Tomorrow the first game will be at 9:00 am with Cheyenne playing Jackson, Laramie and Casper play at noon, Jackson faces Gillette at 3:00 and the Jets and Laramie play at 7:00.
The top four advance to bracket play with semi-finals Saturday the title game will be play Sunday.
