TROOPERS WIN A THRILLER BACK IN ACTION TONIGHT

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers have won 17 straight games after coming from behind to beat the Casper Drillers Tuesday night. They played behind all night and were able to come through for the 8-7 victory.

Casper took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and led 5-0 in the 4th inning before the Troopers started their comeback.

Down 7-6 in the bottom of the 8th with two outs Kalvin Eisenach hit a 2-run single to give the Troopers their first lead of the game Head coach Ben Phillips. The stay unbeaten in league play and are now 30-4 on the season.

The defense came up with some big plays with Casper leading 5-0 and no out in the 4th inning and the bases loaded Trooper Short Stop Conner Mcafferty started a triple play.

He caught a hard hit line drive he then stepped on second base catching the runner off the bag then threw to first to get another Casper runner straying off his bag and that ended what could have been a huge inning for the Drillers. The Troops also turned two other double plays and Will O'dell made three big defensive plays at third.

It was pitching by committee last night Cameron Harnish got the start and ran into early trouble, Kaul Eisele came in to put out the Drillers fire in the 2nd inning he came out in the 4th, Cole Gustufson came in and pitched through the 8th he got the win and Trayton Havens pitched a scoreless 9th inning for the save.

The Troops are back in action tonight hosting a double header with Cody. The first game will start at 5:00.

After tonight's games the Troopers don't play at home until July 11th when they host a double header with Spearfish, South Dakota that is one of only two home dates left on the schedule.

FREEDOM FEST - The Sheridan Recreation district will get your 4th of July started off as the once again host Freedom Fest at the old Woodland Park school.

It's a perfect start to the day before heading out to the fireworks display at the Big Horn Equestrian center and all activities are free for everyone.

Freedom Fest will run from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on the 4th there will be refreshments and lots of games and activities for the kids and adults and this year they are going to feature a mud volleyball tournament.

The mud volleyball tournament is co-ed and they are currently taking registration at the Rec District office in Thorne-Rider park.

Again Freedom Fest will be from 10-00 to 2:00 next Wednesday the 4th of July at the old Woodland Park school.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies lost 12-5 to the Washington Nationals last night. They play the Nationals again tonight you can hear the game live tonight on Sports / Talk 87.7 FM broadcast time is set for 6:05.
