Weekend Sports Recap

Sheridan Troopers jumped out to an early lead on Rapid City 320 and captured an 11-1 victory on Saturday in the first game of a doubleheader.
In the Second Game, the Troopers were down six runs in the fifth and recovered thanks to Kalvin Eisenah’s Grand Slam in the seventh, and pulled out a 10 – 7 win over Rapid City 320.
The Troopers then traveled to Powell on Sunday and won both games of the doubleheader. Josh Loseke collected three hits, sparking the Troopers to a 6-4 victory in seven innings in the first game and then the Troopers pulled away in the second game and defeated the Powell Pioneers by a score of 9 - 2.
The Troopers will be back in action Tuesday as they travel to Riverton for a doubleheader.
Following that trip they host four straight home doubleheaders starting with Gillette on Friday, June 8th the first game will start at 5pm. During the home stand the Troopers will host their Youth Baseball Camp this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Trooper camp will run each day at Thorne-Rider Stadium with instruction from the Coaches and Players. Registration forms are available at the Sheridan Rec. District Office. JETS BASEBALL:

The Sheridan Jets travel Tuesday to Billings to face the Billings Angels Prep team before heading to play in a three day tournament hosted by Post 22 in Rapid City, June 8th through the 10th.

The Wyoming All-Stars defeated the South Dakota All-Stars 84 – 79 in Spearfish Friday night.
WY boys scoring...Hunter Reece (Sheridan) 16...Riley Ryan (Sheridan) 8 plus 13 rebounds...
On Saturday The South Dakota all-stars hit a number of 3′s in the 2nd half, and Wyoming was unable to counter, and a late run fell short, resulting in a victory for South Dakota in Gillette, 89-84. Riley Ryan had 15 points for Wyoming and Hunter Reece added 4.
Riley Ryan has just been nominated a Millward Simpson award recipient. Riley is one of 5. Awards will be given out June 16th in Casper.

Wyoming Lady All-Stars defeat the South Dakota All-Stars by a score of 83 – 76 on Friday in Spear-fish and on Saturday once the girls got going…well…the final score said the rest.
Regan Wilson (Laramie) scored 25 points and was one of 4 players in double figures as the Wyoming Girls All-Stars routed South Dakota, 106-83 in Gillette on Saturday.

This Friday & Saturday, June 8th and 9th. The Wyoming/Montana High School All-Star Basketball series will be played. Games in Sheridan will be in the Hoffman Dome at Sheridan College Friday night June 8th. The Girls game will begin at 5:30pm with the boys going at 7:30pm. The second round of games will be played in Billings at Rocky Mountain College with the same schedule. All four games will be broadcast Live on 1410 KWYO at 5pm.
All-Star head coach Frank McCarthy has 4 of this year’s All-Stars coming to play at Sheridan College this Fall.
McCarthy says there isn’t much practice time so he wants the players just to go out and enjoy the competition together.

The Sheridan College Basketball coaches will host their Youth Basketball Camps following the All-Star Games. The Boys camp will be from June 11th through the 14th and the girls camp from the 18th through the 21st. (BRONC FOOTBALL)

The Sheridan Bronc Football team took part in the Team Football camp in Chadron this past weekend. Bronc Football doesn’t end there. The University of Wyoming will be coming to Sheridan to put on a camp starting this Thursday June 7th. Following their ten days of Football Camp the Bronc Players will settle into their summer workout routine.

The Sheridan Rec District summer adult softball leagues begin it’s second week of play. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is for all Co-Rec league play. Thursday Evenings are reserved for Men League play. Games start at 6:30pm each evening and full concessions can be found at the Softball complex at Sheridan College.
