AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers have won five of their last six and four in row after taking two from Sturgis, South Dakota last night at Thorne-rider stadium.

In the first game Isaac Carrel hit a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning in the come from behind 12-11 win.
The second game went down to the Troops final at bat and a Sturgis throwing error allowed the winning run to score as they took that Game 6-5 Head coach Ben Phillips says they found a way to win both games.

The Troops have been on a pretty good roll the last two weeks and Phillips says he has seen the players turn their fortunes around with better play.

It was a late night but the have a quick turn around as they begin a three day tournament today in Billings.

The next home date for the Troops will be a double header with Cody on the 15th.

The Sheridan Jets are off until Saturday when they host two with Lovell starting at 1:00.

BRONC YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP - The Sheridan Bronc football team will host their summer youth football camp next week and the Broncs will go through a mini-camp themselves.

The 4th annual youth camp will run next week Monday – Wednesday with players 8th grade and younger going from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at Homer Scott stadium Broncs Head coach Don Julian says it will be a lot of fun for the young kids to be out on the field with the Bronc coaching staff.

The high school players will go from 6:00 to 8:00 in the evening, Julian says the mini-camp comes at a good time for the Broncs.

And Julian says time is running out on summer as the Broncs open Pre-season camp a month from tomorrow.

The Bronc youth football camp costs 10 dollars per camper for 8th grade and younger players and each camper gets a camp t-shirt. They will take registration at the field Monday before the camp opens at 5:00.

SHERIDAN COUNTY YOUTH GOLF - Sheridan county youth golf series will host the first junior golf tournament of the summer July 19th a the Sheridan country club.

The junior golf series is open to all boys and girls ages 8-17 the fee is10 dollars per golfer, registration forms are located at all three Sheridan courses.

The rest of the junior golf series dates will be July 26th at Kendrick golf course which will be a Wyoming parks and recreation junior golf day. The final event will be at the Powder Horn Monday August 2nd.
