TROOPERS SET SINGLE SEASON WIN RECORD

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers swept a double header in Miles City, Montana Monday night and in the process set a new record for victories in a season they end the regular season at 44-9 which included and unbeaten record in conference play.

They beat Miles City 12-10 and 5-2 Josh Loseke got the win in relief in the first game and Kalvin Eisenach got the win in the second game.

The post season begins tomorrow at their district tournament in Powell they open at 4:00 against Lovell. Head coach Ben Phillips says the regular season is over and the next step is to go out and win the district tournament to get a good seed going into the state tournament.

And in setting the single season program record for victories Phillips commented yesterday it's not the record but looking and the big picture to finish up strong and do well in the district and state tournaments.

The State American Legion baseball tournament is scheduled to start in Casper on August 1st.

BABE RUTH BASEBALL - The Sheridan 14 year old Babe Ruth all-star baseball team will open their regional tournament in Oregon on August 1st.

The Wyoming state champs will play four pool play games before the top four teams advance to the semi finals. The over all champion earns a trip to the 14 year old world series in Utah later in August.

REC DISTRICT SOFTBALL - The Sheridan Recreation district has begun post season play in their adult summer softball leagues, the co-rec and men's tournaments are schedule to wrap up late next week.

The district is once again offering a fall co-rec league for those teams who would like to extend their season.

Team registration will take play place from August 1st through the 13th with league play beginning August 21st.

Each team will get ten additional games the fee is 230.00 dollars per team to sign up stop be the Rec office in Thorne-Rider park.

SHERIDAN SWIMMING - The Sheridan high school and USA swim teams will be hosting a splash bash an Olympic swimming watch party on July 31st in the early auditorium it's open to the public and will run from 7 to 9 pm.

They will have door prizes and will be using the time to give out more information on youth swimming and diving opportunities in Sheridan.

DENVER BRONCOS - NFL teams open preseason camps this week the Denver Broncos open camp tomorrow.

The Broncos first preseason game will be Thursday, August 9th at Chicago. The regular season opener will be September 9th at home against Pittsburgh.

SHERIDAN BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs open in less than two weeks. Their fist practice will be at 7:00 am on Monday August 1st.

The Broncs regular season opens August 24th with a road game at Cheyenne Central, the home opener will be August 31st when they host Natrona county.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies lost 6-3 at Arizona Monday night. The series continues tonight and we will broadcast the game for you on Sports /Talk 87.7 FM broadcast time is at 7:05.
