TROOPERS RUN STREAK TO 19 STRAIGHT

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers have won 19 straight games after sweeping a double header from Cody Wednesday night at Thorne-Rider stadium.

They took the first game 14-3 Josh Loseke homered in the first game, Schiller Murphy went the distance and got the win in game two striking out a season 10 batters as the Troops won 9-1.

They play two in Casper Friday against Jackson and a team from Colorado Springs then to Rapid City next week for a four game tournament.

Head coach Ben Phillips says the players have done a good job of staying sharp when the schedule got very busy.

They are 32-4 overall and unbeaten in conference play and Phillips says it hasn't been easy to get where they are today and the players have put in countless hours of making themselves into a better ball club.

And finally he says what's more amazing with the record they've put together they are getting every opponents best when they go out and play and the players are meeting every challenge.

They only have two more home dates on the schedule they host two with Spearfish, South Dakota on July 11th and two with Riverton July 22nd.

They open their district tournament in Powell July 26th and the state tournament in Casper August 1st.

FREEDOM FEST - The Sheridan Recreation District will get your 4th of July started off as the once again host Freedom Fest at the old Woodland Park school.

It's a perfect start to the day before heading out to the fireworks display at the Big Horn Equestrian center and all activities are free for everyone.

Freedom Fest will run from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on the 4th there will be refreshments and lots of games and activities for the kids and adults and this year they are going to feature a mud volleyball tournament.

The mud volleyball tournament is co-ed and they are currently taking registration at the Rec District office in Thorne-Rider park.

Again Freedom Fest will be from 10-00 to 2:00 next Wednesday the 4th of July at the old Woodland Park school.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies lost 11-5 to the Washington Nationals last night. They play the Nationals again today you can hear the game live on Sports / Talk 87.7 FM broadcast time is set for 12:30.
