TROOPERS PREP FOR THE SEASON OPENER

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are going on their second week of preseason workouts at Thorne-Rider stadium and we stopped in to check how things were going.

Head coach Ben Phillips says they easing the players into their practice routine, next week they'll start preparation for the home opener on the 27th.

They won't have the full team together until sometime in may because a few college players will be back with the team but he says right now the returning players are helping the new players get used to playing for the Troopers.

And he says once the schedule begins later this month the games come pretty fast and that means some of the younger players will get a chance to get some quality playing time.

The season opener will be a double header with Cody Saturday, April 27th. the first pitch will be tossed out at 1:00. we will broadcast the opener live on 14-10 KWYO.

SOCCER - The Sheridan high school soccer teams will play Cheyenne East and Central Friday and Saturday the Lady Broncs will be in Cheyenne the Broncs will play at home games will be at 4:00 and 6:00 Friday and 10:00 and noon Saturday

TRACK / FIELD - The Sheridan high school track teams will compete at a meet at Casper Kelly Walsh high school Friday.

GOLF - The Sheridan high school golfers open their spring schedule at a tournament Friday in Worland.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies beat Milwaukee 8-4 Tuesday night to pick up their first win of the season Troy Tulowitski and Carlos Gonzalez homered for the second straight game.

The Rockies and Brewers play again tonight you can hear it live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio. Rockies pregame is at 5:30 with the first pitch at 6:05.

They will be off tomorrow and back in Denver for the home opener Friday against San Diego that broadcast will start at 1:30.
