TROOPERS LOOKING FOR A BIG 2012

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are two days into their spring training the regular season begins May 6th with the Troopers hosting a double header with Casper.

Head coach Ben Phillips says they have six weeks to get ready for their first games.

He says it will take all that time to make sure arms will be ready to start the grind of the regular season.

The Troops will rely on a veteran pitching group this summer with several starters back from last season and Phillips says they should have a few good arms to back them up.

They are coming a very good year in 2011 and Phillips says they expect bigger and better things from the Troopers in 2012.

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Sheridan high school soccer teams continue conference play this week with matches against Cheyenne East and Cheyenne Central.

The Lady Broncs are 6-0 and play at home and the Broncs are 5-1 and play in Cheyenne matches Friday are at 4:00 and 6:00 and Saturday at 10:00 and noon.

TRACK AND FIELD - The Sheridan and Big Horn high school track teams will compete at an invitational in Gillette Saturday events begin at 10:00.

Next week is spring break for School District Two but the Broncs and Lady Broncs will be at an invitational meet in Billings on Tuesday.

BRONC / LADY BRONC GOLF - The Sheridan high school golfers will compete in their first spring tournament in Gillette Thursday, April 12th.

They will host the Sheridan invitational May 8th at Kendrick golf course with the spring season culminating with the conference tournament in Casper may 14th and 15th.

BRONC / LADY BRONC TENNIS - Sheridan high school spring tennis is underway as well practices. Their first matches will be up in Hardin, Montana April, 20th and 21st.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies open their season with a three game series in Houston next Thursday the home opener at Coors field is Monday, April 9th against San Francisco.
