TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers beat Powell 14-7 Saturday to win the north district tournament.
They led 9-7 going into the 9th inning and scored five runs to put the game away Lucas Giesey got the win, Drew Adriaens pitched the last three innings in relief.
The Troops take their 49-9 record into state tournament play Wednesday in Casper they face Laramie as their first round opponent at 12:30.
JETS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets finished 3rd in the state American Legion "B" tournament Sunday. They were eliminated by Cheyenne 9-6. Cheyenne went onto to beat Casper for the State "B" title.
BRONC FOOTBALL - Football season for the Sheridan Broncs starts a week from today. The annual Bronc player / parent meeting will take place Saturday at 4:00 in the Sheridan high school auditorium.
The first practice for freshmen through seniors will start at 7:00 Monday morning August 6th.
The rest of the fall sports including volleyball, lady bronc swimming, tennis, cross country and golf along with football for Tongue River, Big Horn and NSI all begin Monday, August 13th.
Again there is one thing all junior high and high school athletes must get done in the next week for Sheridan football and two weeks for everyone else is sports physicals, Sheridan high school AD and football coach Don Julian.
Physicals must be complete and proof turned into coaches before athletes and practice with their teams.
BRONC / LADY BRONC TENNIS - Sheridan high school tennis coach Bob Farout has announced the first tennis practice for the broncs and lady broncs will be Monday the 13th at 4:00 at the SHS tennis courts.
SHS BOOSTER CLUB - On Saturday August 18th the SHS booster club will host their shootout golf scramble noon at the powder horn, it's a four person team scramble.
And on August 22nd the booster club will host the annual fall BBQ 5:30 pm at high school followed by fall sports parent meeting at 7 pm in auditorium
SWIMMING - The Sheridan high school and USA swim teams will be hosting a splash bash an Olympic swimming watch party tomorrow night in the early auditorium it's open to the public and will run from 7 to 9 pm.
They will have door prizes and will be using the time to give out more information on youth swimming and diving opportunities in Sheridan.

VOLLEYBALL CAMP - There will be a junior high girls volleyball camp in Ranchester starting Tuesday August 7th and running through Friday the 10th. The camp is open to all girls going into the 6th through 8th grade.
