Troopers fall in 12 innings / On the road Wednesday / Jets at Gillette tonight / SC volleyball / WYO Rodeo week begins Saturday
TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers lost a marathon game Monday at home against Jackson as they let a late lead slip away and Jackson won the game that went 12 innings.
Jackson took and early 4-0 lead but the Troopers put up seven runs in the 6th inning and took a three run lead into the ninth inning when the wheels came off allowing three Jackson runs to force extra innings.
The Giants score one run in the top of the 12th inning, the Troops couldn't answer and fell 8-7.
After the game Head coach Ben Phillips says it was one game they let get away.
He said Tyler Stauffer did a good job on the mound through nine innings but after Jackson tied the game the Troops lost their momentum and got beat.
Today's scheduled double header with Gillette has been canceled so they will get ready for a road double header in Douglas tomorrow.
The next home date for the Troopers will be a single nine inning game with Laramie on Monday the 14th starting at noon.
JETS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Jets split their last two games on the road at Lovell they are playing two over in Gillette tonight.
SC VOLLEYBALL - Sheridan college volleyball Head coach Jennifer Sadler has announced that Eric Frey of Sheridan will join the Lady Generals coaching staff when the 2014 season begins in August.
Frey spent the last ten years as an assistant volleyball coach at Sheridan high school.
WYO RODEO - 2014 Sheridan WYO rodeo week starts this weekend with the official kickoff Saturday with the WYO rodeo pageant and Horsemanship show. The four performances of the WYO begin a week from tomorrow.
