SHERIDAN TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Trooper baseball team opens their district tournament in Powell today at 4:00 there has been a change in the bracket, the Troops were informed yesterday they will play Riverton in their first round game today instead of Lovell.
The finished the regular season Monday with two wins in Miles City and finished with a program best 44 victories and senior right fielder / pitcher Drew Adriaens says a lot of long hours of practice made this season so successful. And he says good team chemistry was another big factor in their success.
Head coach Ben Philips says it's a long season and without that good team chemistry they wouldn't have won 44 of 53 games.
The Troops are confident bunch and Phillips says they just need to go to Powell and take care of their business.
They will face Riverton today a team they blasted in a double header last Sunday and Phillips says they need to establish their dominance early in today's game.
The district tournament concludes Friday and the state American Legion baseball tournament is scheduled to start next Wednesday in Casper.
REC DISTRICT ADULT SOFTBALL - The Sheridan Recreation district has begun post season play in their adult summer softball leagues, the co-rec and men's tournaments are schedule to wrap up late next week.
The district is once again offering a fall co-rec league for those teams who would like to extend their season.
Team registration will take play place from August 1st through the 13th with league play beginning August 21st.
Each team will get ten additional games the fee is 230.00 dollars per team to sign up stop be the Rec office in Thorne-Rider park.
SHERIDAN SWIMMING - The Sheridan high school and USA swim teams will be hosting a splash bash an Olympic swimming watch party next Tuesday evening in the early auditorium it's open to the public and will run from 7 to 9 pm.
They will have door prizes and will be using the time to give out more information on youth swimming and diving opportunities in Sheridan.
