TROOPERS CONTINUE TO ROLL / 2012 WSHOF

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are 29-4 overall after sweeping all five games at a tournament in Powell over the weekend.

They beat Lovell and the Billings Halos Friday and came back Saturday to beat Williston, North Dakota 10-4 and Powell 4-3 and closed out the weekend Sunday with a 7-3 win over Cody.

The Troops go after their 30th win of the season tuesday night when they host a conference game with the Casper Drillers.

Tomorrow night it's a single nine inning game it will start at 5:00 and we will be broadcasting all the action live on 14-10 KWYO.

2012 WSHOF - The Class of 2012 in the Wyoming sports hall of fame was inducted at a ceremony in Casper Saturday night.

This year's list included Sheridan's Blaine and Ben Phillips and Dave Edeen.

Blaine Phillips is the older of the brothers and says it was a great night for both of them to share with family and friends.

Cheyenne native and current Sheridan resident Dave Edeen says it was a great night to be able to have his family attend.

Joining Blaine, Ben and Dave in the 2012 class were Wheatland native and Wyoming Cowboys Quarterback Casey Bramlett, volleyball coach Sandy Jebens from Rawlins and Rock Springs basketball player Bruce Collins.

Joining the hall as the honoree of the lifetime achievement award was Casper's Paul Eastridge who is head of American Legion Baseball in Wyoming.

The athlete of the year award went to Cheyenne baseball player Brandon Nimmo.Nimmo was the 12th selection overall in the 2011 major league baseball draft by the New York Mets and currently plays for the Brooklyn Cyclones of the New York / Penn league.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies lost 4-3 at Texas Sunday night. After nine straight on the road they are back at home to open a series with the Washington Nationals tonight.
