Trooper baseball home opener tonight / SHS all-state soccer list / Phillies walk off on the Rockies

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are 3-5 overall at looking forward to finally playing at home tonight.

They've played their first eight games on the road, Head coach Ben Phillips says it'll be good for the players to play at Thorne-Rider in front of the home fans.

The Troops have been a little short handed with injuries to some of their veteran players, Phillips says the young guys have been getting a lot of action.

And Phillps says they will get some good competition from the Cats tonight. Again the double header with Douglas will get underway tonight at 5:00.

ALL-STATE SOCCER - Six Sheridan high school soccer players have been named all-state. The four from the state runner up Lady Broncs are Robbi Ryan, Marissa Johansson, Jamy Shassetz and Lauren Passini.

Two Broncs made all-state this spring they are Colter Carzoli and Lane Barten.

UW TENNIS CAMP - The University of Wyoming will be holding a tennis camp in Sheridan June 2nd through 6th at the Sheridan high school tennis courts.

The camp is open to all boys and girls ages 8-17 the camp runs from 9:00 to 3:00 with a lunch break (campers provide their own lunch) .

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies got beat by Philadelphia 6-3 last night. Ryan Howard hit a walk off three run homer in the bottom of the ninth to win it.

The Rockies are off today and open a three game series in Cleveland tomorrow before returning to Coors field for a home series with Arizona Tuesday.
