TRACK / SOCCER / GOLF WEEKEND HIGHLIGHTS

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams played Laramie Friday night the Broncs won and the Lady Broncs dropped their first match of the season.

The Broncs avenged a loss to the plainsmen from three weeks ago by beating them in overtime 2-1, they went out as expected and blew out Cheyenne South 10-0 Saturday.

The Broncs now lead the conference race with Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne East coming to Sheridan to play this week.

The Lady Broncs lost their first match of the season Friday, Laramie took the win 1-0 Head coach Tom Racette.

After a slow start they put a lot of pressure on Laramie in the second half but the bounce of the ball just never went their way.

Now they have a good stretch of matches coming up as they play at Central and East and then come home for a match with Gillette.

After the loss to Laramie they had no problem Saturday blowing out Cheyenne South 8-0.

TRACK AND FIELD - The "Dan Hansen"Memorial track invitational ran Saturday at Sheridan high school.

In the girls team race the Lady Broncs finished 4th, Tongue River was 7th, Big Horn was 9th, A/C was 10th and NSI was 11th.

In the boys team race the Broncs were 3rd, TR was 7th, the Rams were 8th and NSI was 9th.

Top Sheridan county finishers included Micheal Rotellini winning both the 800 and 1600 meters for the Broncs, Taylor Kraft took the high jump for the Broncs and for Big Horn Matt Wigglesworth took the long jump.

In the girls competition the Lady Bronc's Katies Rotellini took the 800 meters.

This week the Wyoming Track Classic will be held in Casper Friday. all the top competitors from all classes are invited to this meet.

GOLF - Saturday the Broncs and Lady Broncs are scheduled to compete at a big invitational in Casper.

The Bronc and Lady Bronc golfers teed it up in Douglas friday the Broncs took the team victory their overall tournament winning streak stands at 28 in a row. This week they have a tournament Friday in Powell and in Buffalo Saturday.

WYOMING COWBOY JOE - The Wyoming Cowboy Joe club will host their spring membership fund drive reception on tonight at the Sheridan Holiday Inn the event will run from 5:30 to 7:30.

Guest speakers will be Athletic Director Tom Burman, Director of golf Joe Jensen, Wrestling coach Mark Branch, Basketball coach Larry Shyatt and Football coach Dave Christensen.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies swept a road series at Milwaukee over the weekend. Sunday Micheal Cuddyer hit a run scoring double in the 8th inning to break and 3-3 tie and Rocks won 4-3.

They open another road series to night in Pittsburgh you can hear tonight's game live starting at 4:30 on Sports / Talk 87.7 FM.
